This is part of my “what to keep in your” series. I have a little bit of an obsession about being prepared for anything. After all, there has been that ONE time I didn’t have a plastic baggie with me. š Ā These are items that I personally feel are a “must have”.

Spring has sprung! And that means warm weather activities. Fishing, swimming, walking, sports activities and parks, there’s always something to do. Before I had a kid, it was easy to grab my purse and go out the now. Now, I have to think about the whole family.
We’ve gone on a few outings and I’m already annoyed by having to pack for each trip. Granted, it’s a lot easier now than when my daughter was a baby but there’s still a lot to think about. I’ve decided to make it easier on myself by having a “summer bag” already to go, packed with all of my warm weather essentials.
Sunscreen
This is a must have for any summer outing!
Eppipen
Don’t forget this if you or someone in your family has any severe allergies.
Inhaler
I’m an asthmatic so I always carry an inhaler with me.
Medicine
I keep a small amount of Tylenol and Benadryl in my bag in both adult and children’s versions. Don’t let a headache or seasonal allergies ruin your day!
Water
Got to stay hydrated!
Snacks
Don’t let hunger ruin your plans.
Extra Clothes
Someone is always bound to get their clothes filthy.
Wipes
So handy for wiping hands, noses or anything else that needs wiped.
Portable Charger & Cords
Don’t let your phone loose a charge while having fun.
Bathing Suit
For the impromptu swimming trips.
Towel
For swimming trips or for wiping off mud.
Tissues
Works for blowing your nose, as a napkin or as toilet paper if you need it.
GoGirl
I have a fear of public bathrooms. The germs, ick. I bought this on clearance at Walmart. It’s small and fits easily into my bag. Amazon also has different versions available.
Pad/Tampon
Just when you think you’ve got Aunt Flo under control, she’ll wreck your plans.
I keep everything in a small book bag. It’s very easy for me to carry it during a walk or to the beach. I keep everything separated into gallon zip lock bags. That way, if we aren’t swimming, I can easily pull out the swimming bag and leave it in the car. It cuts down on the weight without forgetting anything!
Also, I include camping chairs as part of my “car essentials” list during the summer months. If you’re a big flip wearer, it would be a good idea to also keep spare sneakers in your car for impromptu walks. Or, if you’re prone to breaking them like I am!
Maybe someone can explain to me why it’s always the moms who tend to think of these things. My daughter’s step father would just grab her, his keys and maybe a water bottle and go. Do men really not think to pack extra clothes and sunscreen? Perhaps the over prepared gene comes out during childbirth š
Do you have a summer bag? What do you keep in yours?
