I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I knew fatigue is huge symptom of having a thyroid disease. I did not know that insomnia was another one.
I really did not know it was possible to have both. At the same time.
Who knew that a having a thyroid disease could affect so many parts of your life? My journey through this disease has been long and hard. And it’s only just beginning. Each day, I am finding out more information, treatment options and symptoms.
The psychiatric symptoms were shocking to me. So is having fatigue and insomnia at the same time.
How is that even possible? To be so tired you feel as if you could sleep standing up but to not be able to fall asleep?
It’s like clockwork. Every night lately, I go to bed only to toss and turn for hours before I give up.
I no longer drink excessive caffeine. (broke the soda habit!)
I try to read a book to relax before bed.
I’ve used aromatherapy bath salts.
I look forward to bedtime all day long. But when it gets to be that time…I can’t fall asleep. It’s extremely annoying and frustrating.
Most days I feel like a zombie. Even when I am able to sleep, I don’t feel like I actually SLEEP. Does that make sense at all?
It is a viscous cycle that needs to be broke.
Fellow thyroid victims...what do you suggest?
