I am not the type of person who can use one software program for everything. That’s why I love IFTTT. I am able to use multiple programs and still have everything compiled into one central location. Like Evernote.
I adore Pinterest. I often get lost pinning ideas onto different boards. A lot of the time, I plan to look at them later.
That doesn’t always work out. When I sign back into Pinterest, I get sucked into the rabbit hole of endless pinning again.
It’s very easy to do this with IFTTT. I broke it down into very simple steps. If you already are familiar with IFTT, some of this may be redundant for you. (Not sure what IFTTT is? It stands for “If This, Than That.”. Meaning, If THIS happens, than THAT happens. Read on…it sounds more confusing than it is.)
Authorize the channels you will need. For this, you will need to authorize the Pinterest channel and the Evernote channel Or OneNote if you prefer).
Create the recipe.
Click “Create a Recipe” and then click the “this” link.
Choose your “Trigger Channel”. For this recipe, choose Pinterest.
Chose the trigger. For Pinterest, you have the option of picking between liking a pin or a new pin on a particular board. I’ve picked the new pin on board option. I like to keep things organized. If I decided to do every pin I like as a trigger, I’d have a jumble mess on my hands!
Pick which Pinterest board you want to use. For this, I used my “Cleaning Board”.
After you are done with your triggers, you should click the blue “that”.
Decide what channel to use for your action. For this, I used Evernote.
Pick your actions. I picked create a note.
Create action fields. You can leave the default options or choose your own.
Create the recipe.
Pin on the board chosen and enjoy knowing that everything will proceed automatically.
This is how it’ll show up in Evernote. Pretty cool huh?
How do you use IFTTT in your daily life? I’d love to hear about it in the comment section.
